I've personally thought they'd make a nice couple and ship them a lot together. Ben giving up his life for her has been tragic and terribly sad in my eyes at least anyways.
Ray almost sacrificed her life by using all her strength to defeat Palpatine. It was a cost Ben wasn't willing to allow her pay. They are both great couple. They kissed in the end as a sign of their love.
I thought their connection was one of the most interesting parts of the sequel trilogy. Their bond felt complicated, and Ben's redemption arc made his final choice even more meaningful.
