Kylo Ren's Redemption and Death?

I've thought personally that the scene is tragic to see, after earning Rey's love, he dies for her. Why couldn't they have been together and have a "happily ever after"?

I felt the same. After everything Kylo went through, I really hoped he and Rey would get a chance to be together instead of such a tragic ending.
