Star Wars: Celebration V was a big fan convention that was held last year in Orlando, FL and featured everything you’d expect from such an event, including celebrity guests and panels, costumes, screenings and more. The four day gathering was attended by tens of thousands of fans, so popular that organizers are planning on holding the event again at the same location, the Orange County Convention Center. Tickets are now available for Celebration VI, even though the event is not until August 23-26 of next year (2012). Daily passes will run from $55 (Thursday, Friday, and Sunday) and $65 (Saturday) for adults or $27 for children for each and all days, but the best value is the $135 for a four day adult pass, or $54 for child. You can go here to purchase tickets. There is not much information yet about anything that is scheduled, but we will say that Celebration V was a great event and we look forward to another one.

Above is a video we ran into that we thought was hilarious from a comedy team called Slick Gigolo, who posts their videos on YouTube. The premise of this particular one is that George Lucas has been kidnapped for 20 years and because of this, the prequels were made and that is why they sucked (their words). When Lucas manages to escape, he will strike back against those that captured him, and you’ll never guess who that is. While we doubt the entire film will ever be made, this “trailer” is really funny and worth a look. A word of warning though. Some of the language may not be suitable for work or children. BTW, the tagline is great. Not all men are created prequel. LOL.

Disney will be releasing Muppet action figures that are crossed over with Star Wars for their theme parks. Included are things like Beaker and Dr. Honeydew as C3PO and R2D2, Kermit as Luke, Miss Piggy as Leia, Fozzy as Chewbacca, etc. The figures, which are currently being shown as prototypes at Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida, will be available this fall. You can read more about them by visiting our Disney site, Magical Boards.

E3 is next week and there at least a couple of games on the horizon for Star Wars. Star Wars: The Old Republic, the big MMO that will challenge the mighty World of Warcraft is one. Star Wars Kinect is another, which will be for the Xbox and the motion tracking controller. Both will be on display, hopefully in much more detail, than last year’s E3. No doubt current titles like Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will also be featured at some booth. LucasArts is hoping that they can reverse a trend of games that have failed in the public eye, which is something that even the CEO has admitted to. You know what would be really cool, a Monkey Island like adventure in the Star Wars Universe. Perhaps Guybrush Threepwood could play Luke against his nemesis, the evil Pirate LeChuck as Vader. Just a thought if they were looking for ideas.

And that’s about the news of the hour for the moment. Thanks for reading.
