In our continuing series to tell you what’s going to be at Comic-Con for those attending in relation to Star Wars, we present Friday’s (July 21st) schedule for all things Lucas related…
10am – 11am Lego Star Wars
Ever wanted to find out what it takes to bring Star Wars and Lego together? Well now you can with the team from the game company, where you will be able to ask questions and hear the answers from some of the coolest developers around. The panel will also feature Emmy award winning writer Michael Price. There will also be the revealing of a new Lego Star Wars event.
11am – 12n Hasbro Star Wars
Of course, everyone knows that Hasbro makes a ton of Star Wars toys, fun props and action figures. In this panel, guests from the marketing and design teams will be on hand to talk about what is in store for the franchise with a sneak peek at next year’s offerings.
12n – 1:00pm Star Wars Books
Publisher Del Rey and LucasBooks will discuss the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire, as well as provide previews of new titles coming down the pike. A must for any reader of the Star Wars extended universe.
1:00pm – 2:00pm Dark Horse Comics: 20 Years of Star Wars
A host of star wars comic book writers including Dave Filoni, Mick Harrison, Timothy Zahn, and more will be offering up exclusive tidbits, giving away cool stuff, and giving the attendees a chance to win a stormtrooper helmet with artwork by Blood Ties artist Chris Scalf
2:00pm – 3:00pm Star Wars Collectibles
For those that want to know what’s the good word in collectibles are for the Lucas universe, this is your panel. Brant Bridges (Sideshow Collectibles), Bryan Ono (eFX), Ashley Powell (Gentle Giant Studios) and Dan Lujan (Kotobukiya) will be on hand to discuss the past, present and future of the items that are must have.
3:00pm – 4:00pm Rendering the Galaxy Far Far Away: The Digital Art and Light of Star Wars: The Clone Wars
That is a mouthful of a title, but as it says, this panel will be about how Clone Wars is created, going beyond just the simple answers, to provide a deep down look at what is involved. Dave Filoni (director of Clone Wars) and Joel Aron, who is the FX supervisor and CG lighting director, will speak on the subject.
3:30pm – 4:15pm Robot Chicken
While not all Star Wars, Robot Chicken does a lot of Star Wars bits and has created three episodes of Lucas parodies that are hilarious. Seth Green and Matthew Senreich will be on hand to chat with the crowd about the making of the show, along with head writer Tom Root.
7:00pm – 8:00pm Sushi Girl
Mark Hamill returns to the big screen in Sushi Girl and he will be sitting on the panel to promote the film along with his co-stars.
And that’s it. Quite a day for Star Wars on Friday at Comic-Con. Have fun.
