A new trailer is out for Season 4 of Cartoon Network’s popular show Star Wars: The Clone Wars and it looks to be a pretty exciting season indeed…

One of the big events of the new season appears to be the undersea battle for Admiral Akbar’s home Mon Calamari. Count Dooku apparently orders his army of separatists to take over the submerged city, but the Calamari are not going without a fight and get the help of the Jedi and the clones. The story, which will play out over three episodes, is a continuation from the online MMO Clone Wars Adventures that debuted earlier. The game is not only fun to play, but because of the dedication in keeping the stories consistent from one to the other, will serve as a very good introduction to the new season. Producers said it was important that the two entities play in the same universe and what happens in one will have consequences in the other.

Anakin is still being haunted by his inner demons, pushing him further away from his own mentor Obi-Wan and more towards the dark side with every passing episode. As Obi-Wan says in the clip, he is having a lot of trouble letting go of the past which saw the death of his mother and his slavery. And now struggles with what Yoda had feared all along, that his fear and anger would lead him astray. His padawan Ahsoko Tano is asked to keep an eye on him.

Speaking of the Jedi, there was some concern from the previous trailers about the inclusion this season of some of the Jedi, such as Mace Windu and Obi-Wan. But fear not, the trailer above makes it quite clear that they are still a part of this season, along with Kit Fisto.

C3PO will be returning with the voice of Anthony Daniels this season, along with his sidekick R2D2 and will provide a bit of comic relief as he always has, being the high strung robot that he is. I love in the trailer the portion where the clone slaps him on the back and says “Suck it up shiny!” That’s hilarious. Apparently C3PO also has a run in with the Ents, who have him surrounded in one clip.

And there is no shortage of bad guys either as Count Dooku, General Grievous and the ever popular and ruthless Boba Fett will be on hand.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 4 begins on September 16th on Cartoon Network.
