Star Wars More Strange Merchandise

You may have seen our article on Star Wars in the kitchen, but there are so many other crazy contraptions and uses of the characters, some hard to believe that someone even thought of them.

Tauntaun Sleeping Bag – In 2009, ThinkGeek thought it would be funny to have a sleeping bag based on the tauntaun from Empire Strikes Back. You remember the tauntaun? That is the creature that Han Solo got into in order to remain warm and he commented how he thought they smelled bad on the outside. Well, there were so many requests on where to buy one that a company actually made it for real and now they are available to the public. They go for around $80-100 and sell at such places as ThinkGeek.com and Skymall.

Dark Side Roasted Coffee – Ever wonder how Darth Vader stays awake so long and you never see him sleeping. It’s probably due to his choice of coffee. Yes, the Lord of the Sith only drinks Dark Side Coffee, available at ThinkGeek.com for 14.99 for a 12 ounce bag.

Dog Costumes – People like to dress up as the various Star Wars characters and go to conventions like ComicCon or others, so why not dogs? There is Princess Leia in both her slave outfit and her shining white dress from A New Hope. There is also Yoda and Darth Vader. Your dog will look so cute or your friends will really laugh at you over these. Either way, they are fun and available from Amazon.com for around $16.

Star Wars Wampa Rug – Yes, now you can have the creature that held Luke captive as a rug on your floor in and tell your friends you took care of it. No wampas were hurt making these rugs which PETA will be glad to hear. Instead they are made of high quality synthetic fur and plush and feature a pillow for the head, as well as claws on their feet. Amazon.com has these for $143.

Darth Sidious Scale Bust – If your Star Wars collection needs a bit of creepy to top it off, this should be just the thing to put it over the top. Yes, it’s Emperor Palpatine in his dark cloak staring out at anyone that is in the room. While this item is not available until Summer 2011, StarWars.com is taking pre-orders at $235. Kinda pricey to have Sidious staring you down, but the artistry is top notch and the resemblance perfect.

Yoda Nutcracker – Will crack your nuts I will! Well, he doesn’t talk, but he will break your almonds with lightning speed, without the force. And even if you don’t use it as a nutcracker, it still makes a very cute item for a collector’s window. $31.99 he is, yes at Star Wars.com.

Garden Jawa – Tired of those little bearded men with the red hats in your yard? Well, now you can have a Jawa hanging out among the flowers with this exclusive product from StarWars.com. Keep your garden protected from pests. Armed with a garden hose, these Jawas aren’t taking any chances. Made of resin and suitable for indoors and outdoors, these creatures are sure to keep your neighbors talking. They are available for $35.00.

It’s amazing how many ways you can involve Star Wars in a product. There are literally hundreds more, but that’s all the time we have for today. Hopefully you will find something here to either purchase or get a chuckle at. Until next time.
