Considering how much fandom exists for the Star Wars franchise, it's no wonder that there are so many books to choose from. Whether you're looking for a novel about Ahsoka, or a sequel to The Empire Strikes Back, there are hundreds to choose from. But how many of them are actually worth your time?

'The Rise of Skywalker'

'The Rise of Skywalker' is the ninth installment of the Skywalker saga. The film was released in December of 2019. It has grossed over $1 billion worldwide, and has received mixed reviews.

The film is a continuation of the "Force Awakens," which was released in 2015. It has been directed by J. J. Abrams, who has also directed The Force Awakens. The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Oscar Isaac. It is also written by Abrams. This film has received three Academy Award nominations.

The Rise of Skywalker follows Rey. She has grown up with Luke and Finn, and has learned about her parents. She also knows that she is a descendant of Emperor Palpatine. This revelation is devastating.

'The Empire Strikes Back'

Whether you are just starting out or are a veteran, there are plenty of books and media to help you enjoy the Star Wars series. In fact, there are more books than there are movies. These publications provide greater insight into the battle between the Force and the Dark Side.

In addition to novels, there are also comics, role-playing game books, and promotional featurettes. Some of these are written as prequels or sequels. Some cover events from the original trilogy of films, while others offer a different take on events from the movies.

The first novelization of a Star Wars film was released prior to the movie's release. It was a success and sold millions of copies. It was written by Alan Dean Foster and was based on the screenplay by George Lucas.

'The Force Awakens'

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is an American epic space opera film that is the sequel to 'Return of the Jedi'. It is directed by J.J. Abrams and co-written with Lawrence Kasdan. The film is set 30 years after 'Return of the Jedi'.

The film begins with a new generation of heroes stepping into the Star Wars universe. The film stars Harrison Ford as Han Solo, an infamous smuggler and pilot. He's joined by his young scavenger, Rey (Daisy Ridley), and their stormtrooper friend Finn (John Boyega).

The film is set in the familiar galaxy thirty years after 'Return of the Jedi'. The First Order, a group of sympathizers to the Empire, has formed into a formidable military force. General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) is trying to crush the Resistance using the Starkiller Base.

'Ahsoka'

During Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano was Anakin Skywalker's apprentice. She later left the Jedi Order. After being betrayed, she found it difficult to find a purpose in her life. She has since gone into hiding. This story is set in the post-Clone Wars universe, and follows Ahsoka Tano on her quest for meaning.

Ahsoka is a character in the Star Wars universe who has only appeared in one canon novel. The novel was written years ago by E. K. Johnston, but did not know the full story intentions. The novel focuses on Ahsoka's life in the years following the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire. It's set a year after the Siege of Mandalore.

'The Queen trilogy'

'The Queen trilogy' in Star Wars is a collection of three novels that detail the life of Padme Amidala. The first, Queen's Peril, chronicles Padme's pre-Queen days, before she was ensnared in a Trade Federation blockade. The second, Queen's Shadow, covers the period between the original Star Wars trilogy and Attack of the Clones.

The third, Queen's Hope, covers the period immediately after Attack of the Clones. It is the third and final novel in the Padme Amidala series. The series, set in the prequel era of the Star Wars timeline, is centered on Padme's rise from the queen of Naboo to the senator of the Galactic Republic.

'The Thrawn duology'

Whether or not the Thrawn duology is actually part of the Star Wars First Expansion era, it is a fun read and sets the stage for the next chapter. It also ties up a few loose ends. The Star Wars galaxy has a new captain and this book helps bring him to life.

One of the best things about the Thrawn duology is the characters. There are several notable characters to be found, including Admiral Ar'alani, who is not only a good friend of Thrawn's but also a respected character in his own right. The duology also features a character whose name may have been misspelled but is not.

The Queen trilogy and the Thrawn duology are the last two Star Wars books that I have which I'm yet to start reading.

I'm thinking of starting to read by this Christmas holidays if I happen to have free schedule for them.
